Paducah Tilghman's scintillating freshman guard, Chelsey Shumpert, is another of our western Kentucky stars to enter the 1000-Point Club this year, doing so versus Reidland on January 5. An electrifying performer, Shumpert burst on the scene as a seventh-grader, and she continues to get better and better by the day. Her speed, quickness, and unparalleled ability as a shot-maker in traffic have helped her rank among the region's leaders in scoring over the course of the year, and she joins Murray's Haley Armstrong on a pace to set new regional scoring records. Shumpert is also one of the region's best passers and creators, and she averages 4.5 assists per contest. The 5-3 Shumpert entered the weekend averaging 20.1 points per game. Leave a Comment |
